Preparing to Teach GAISB

Readiness checklist

1

Hold the credential you teach

Instructors must hold the GAISB certification for every level they deliver. Start with the self-guided program below, then sit the exam.

2

Read the pedagogy guide

Teaching Effectively for GAISB: session design, lab facilitation, assessment integrity, and the ten techniques used across the network.

3

Master the official slides & labs

Teach from the official instructor decks (below) and run every lab yourself end-to-end before your first cohort.

4

Attend the GAISB Instructor Academy

The formal instructor gateway: five days, live delivery practice, and certification assessment.

5

Submit your teaching video

Record 15 minutes of you teaching one official module. GAISB faculty review it against the delivery rubric: pass, and you're certified.

Common questions

How long does instructor certification take?
Most instructors complete the pathway in 4–6 weeks: self-guided program + exam (2–3 weeks), the 5-day Academy, then the teaching-video review (returned within 10 business days).
Can I teach a level I'm not certified for?
No. Delivery rights are per level. You must hold both the GAISB credential and the instructor certification for each level you deliver. Teaching outside your certification is a Code of Conduct violation.
What if my teaching video doesn't pass?
You receive a rubric-scored review with specific feedback and may resubmit twice at no charge. Most resubmissions pass after addressing pacing and lab-facilitation notes.
How do I keep my certification current?
Recertify every 2 years — $1,500 online or $4,500 refresher cohort — and maintain good standing (quality scores, candidate outcomes, conduct).
Where do I get exam vouchers for my own certification?
Order at partner-net pricing on the Ordering page. Instructor-candidates use standard vouchers.
Who do I contact for curriculum questions mid-cohort?
Email instructors@gaisb.org — 1-business-day SLA for active-cohort escalations. For anything else see the Contact Directory.
